Red Storm Entertainment was founded by novelist Tom Clancy, managing director Steve Reid, and 17 staff members in Cary, North Carolina, in 1996. The company has a second office co-located with Ubisoft Montreal in Montreal, Quebec, which was opened in February 2016. The company was acquired by Ubisoft in 2008.
